The convening will bring together leading AI decision-makers for an in-depth roundtable discussion on stronger accountability measures for trustworthy AI.
Fifth Edition of The Athens Roundtable
The fifth edition of The Athens Roundtable on AI and the Rule of Law explored pressing governance challenges posed across jurisdictions by generative AI and foundation models. AI experts engaged in thought-provoking discussions around emerging regulations, measurement and standards, enforcement, and international coordination.
Fourth Edition of The Athens Roundtable
The fourth edition of The Athens Roundtable advanced and widened the global dialogue on the enforcement of AI policies and regulations, coordinated efforts toward AI standards and benchmarks, and the adoption of AI in alignment with human rights and democratic values.
Third Edition of The Athens Roundtable
The 2021 edition of The Athens Roundtable convened a wider group of AI actors and facilitated a participative dialogue on concrete steps to implement and enfroce AI policies to preserve the safety and fundamental values of all. The conversation scanned international AI policy developments and salient AI standardization and benchmarking initiatives in the United States, Europe, and beyond. Over 1,700 thousand participants joined the timely dialogue.
Second Edition of The Athens Roundtable
The 2020 edition of The Athens Roundtable, hosted virtually from New York City, welcomed back key AI actors to create continuity in purpose for the trustworthy adoption of AI, but also benefited from the addition of UNESCO and European Parliament as co-hosts and expanded participation to the Global South, with the support of UNESCO. Approximately 1,000 attendees joined the gathering.
Inaugural Athens Roundtable
Founded in Athens, Greece in 2019, the inaugural Athens Roundtable brought together an international, multi-stakeholder group of experts to discuss the promulgation of ethical principles for the adoption (or avoidance of adoption) of AI for the benefit of humanity.
